Little Windows Resin Kit Giveaway!

I am nuts for giving this away instead of keeping it all for myself! Fran Valera from Little Windows has been ultra generous in sending me a resin kit that has more than enough stuff in it to make 3 necklaces - or whatever else mixed media artists can think of for using found objects and/or bezels. Anyway, I am going to be at Valley Ridge this weekend, so I will pick a winner when I come back on Monday, July 20th. I think it is the 20th. My iPhone is recharging and I am not moving from this spot to go check.

What you need to do it go to the Little Windows website and take a look around to see what they have. As a personal favor to me, email Fran and tell her that she needs to stock BEZELS in all sizes and shapes. Those molds are lovely but I need something to hold our buttons and other found objects in. Okay, I am just a metal freak. I like the bezel/metal edges. So, then you come back -post a comment telling me you went to the website and give me a short story about what experience you have already had with resin. If you haven't, no worries. Did I mention that Little Windows has videos on how-to do various cool things with resin under their how-to section? You have to try doming a bug - way cool!

https://little-windows.com/ Here is their website

Go to the website, look around, tell them you want bezels, come back and leave a comment before Monday. Tell me about what you liked on the Little Windows website and your resin experience. Good luck!

Hey Belinda this is the second give away this week I have been the first poster and you know the first commenter never wins. I have never used resin yet but it is something I have been dying to try.So if I am the lucky winner I will enjoy the prize tremendously. And I have to agree I think the resin jewelry looks really good with a metal bezel behind it.

I loved the Little Windows website's ideas for using resin. I have never tried it and have always wanted to have a go. I actually want to have a go using it with small textile pieces.

Hi Belinda! What a cool site. I went and watched the video with Fran showing how to create the 3 photo pendants. Great product - affordable too. Found the site easy to use, downloaded the pdfs, and the prices are really affordable too. Love that mini-drill! I used the contact form to ask about bezels aswell!!
I'm really interested in resin as I have a huge tub of 1" sqaure plastic word tiles that'd make really cool pendants. Hope I win the kit!!

Hey Belinda,

I've had a bit of experience with resin...enough to encase a few dead bugs in clear resin and see how to mix it. Waiting for it to harden and making sure you have perfectly combined and stirred resin takes a bit of practice. I do like the small molds on the Little Windows Resin site...but, they do need metal bezels to fit their molds...and, I told them so!!! Lisa Paulson, lpaulson@puc.edu

Ok, mission accomplished. The site is nice and bright with good info and her samples are great. Resin is on my list of things to try but haven't taken the plunge yet.

Yay! I would luv to try some different resin. I live in the boonies and have to buy "hardware store resin."
I went to the site and told them to buy bezels and signed up for their free email. Thanks!

WHOA! Thanks for posting this website! I've been wanting to do resin jewelry for some time, but it always looks so messy and fiddly and not easily do-able, but the molds make it look so easy!

I do agree about the bezels...I think it would just give the pendants/charms a more refined look, so I indeed did indeed write and suggest carrying them.

Thanks again for turning us onto this!

I liked the beads inside the resin, but it was hard to choose a favourite. I have never used resin, but I have the weirdest idea, I have several of my sons baby teeth, rescued from the tooth fairy. How cool would it be to have them round my neck!! best wishes Kath in England www.railwaycottage.blogspot.com

Man, you are crazy for giving that away. You are also making us go through way too many steps to win, but some of us (ahem) would really like to try the kit. My favorite part of the website is making the photo necklace. Of course, I would try and figure out how to do it with the photobooth pictures. I also like that this resin is so clear. My only other time playing with resin was on my own. I was not able to get rid of all of the bubbles by huffing. Otherwise, it worked pretty good.

Have a great workshop at Valley Ridge.

Thank you for introducing Little Windows to me! I have been looking at resin and molds for some time debating when to take the plunge. I LOVED the embedded beads on the LW's site. Thanks!! Jennifer V. (jjv1040@yahoo.com)

I went to www.Littlewindows.com and looked around and requested she carry bezels in all shapes and sizes! I love that webstore!
As for my resin projects, I have the resin, the art, molds, but I have not attempted anything yet. I want to make some necklaces for my dearest friends for Christmas and others to give as a secret sister. After watching the how to's on little windows I am anxious to get started! Your site rocks as well! Keep doing your beautiful art, it makes the world more colorful and artsy!

Hi Belinda,
The Little Windows site is great. It's easy to navigate and easy to use plus they have great demos and samples. I asked them to carry the bezels. Thanks for telling us about the site.

Hi Belinda
I don't know how to reply on your web page. I went to the Little Windows site and requested that Fran order bezels in different shapes and sizes. I told her I found the site thru you. I have not done any resin yet but was actually at Michaels yesterday looking at some of their resin. I would love to try some. I started saving bottle caps and tins to try funky things. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Ok, left a bezel message and have to admit to being a resin virgin. Looks fun and already have several ideas in mind...

Bezels and Bezels and more Bezels. I passed on your needs and looked around, their site is cool and they have great tips on their tips pages. I tried resin one time and it was a fiasco, so if their's works like they say WOOHOO! Actually, our fiasco was that the main bottle was already hardened almost before the hardener was added, we found our later...... Good luck on getting the bezels, have you tried Rio Grande? They have tons of them.

Oh, and put me in the drawing, maybe my second time with resin will be the charm.

Hi Belinda, I went to the website and left a message about the bezels. I worked with resins about 10 years ago but nothing since then. I now work with mixed media and I can see some great uses for the resin.

I haven't ever used resin, but it's something I've been looking at and wanting to try, so pick me, pick me! *LOL*

I do agree about the bezels and would like to use them, but I'm also interested in using the resin in my mixed media work.

Thanks for offering this kit!

Little Windows seems like a fun idea, but I've never tried working with resin, so I can't comment about it. I wouldn't mind having an opportunity to try it out though. I can just imagine all the things you could pour it into or over: bottle caps come to mind first, then the bowls of spoons, or perhaps candy molds. I wonder how a real flower would look embedded in the resin. Hmmm . . . cool!

Very interesting website. Sent in your request. I have no experience with resins at all - but they look fun. Lots of possibilities. Can't wait to try them out.

What a darling site - I guess the white and pastel motif really captured me! I love the bracelets and pendants and know my daughters would love them as gifts for their birhdays this fall! I've only tried resin once before and there were issues with tiny bubbles. I agreed about the metal bezels (I have some vintage buttons that would look cool encased in a bezel), so I emailed regarding that. Just keeping my fingers crossed that I receive the honor of winning the kit. Very generous of you.

Hi Belinda,
Very excited about Little Windows. Thanks for sharing. I have tried resin, but have had some issues with drilling. Any thoughts.....you are the dremel master? Kristi

I'm in the UK, so not putting myself forward for the giveaway, chemicals posted overseas.... plus expense. However, I'm sure I used similar to this as a teen in the 70s, Plasticraft think it was called. No worries about chemicals and children back then!! Smell was horrendous, I was banished outside to do it, all my pieces had grit in them!! But it also came with a colour additive, and worked back to front, resin, face down object, coloured resin. Bought resin to do it again 2/3 years back, it set hard in the tin before I even opened it!!!

I liked everything at the little windows website, but especially the videos that show you exactly how to do it. i asked fran to get bezels - and bracelet forms too! I have used resin in charms, in seashells and most recently I have put it in spent brass from shotgun shells. mostly I have used cheapo resin from home depot that isn't supposed to yellow- but it does!...and it is stinky and messy. i tried magic glos...the UV type resin....but it was too gooey to use, so i microwaved it, and then it was too runny!..and it sort of melted and collapsed the bottle.....so i have had mixed results. i've never tried the ice resin, but i take it that's what little windows is like......and i love the little template the kit comes with!

i left a comment at LW about adding metallic bezels to give pieces a finished edge. i've always been skittish about resin projects, but just may give it a try based on their comprehensive site, easy instructions, tips and FAQ... i need all the help i can get! --jean b.

Oops - I didn't read all your instructions. What i liked most about Little Windows is that you can use it to display your art. Scan of your art - resize it and make it into a necklace or earrings. Also I have a caricature of a dear friend who recently passed away. I would love to make a momento for her mother. Then again I play poker and can see endless possibilities for making card protectors with the resin. Dang - I better get busy!
Hope to see you in Long Beach!

Really cute jewelry on the site. I would love a charm bracelet...oooh...a dead bug bracelet? I've worked with resin ages ago and love its look and durability. I had some yellowing over time though. Would that be from the resin or the paints used underneath?
Keeping my fingers crossed.

I love that site and am really happy you mentioned it. I am also glad for you to mention the bezels. I too love metal and have looked for bezels in squares for other projects. My experience with resin is very little. I have Envirotex Lite sitting in a cupboard after one unfavorable trial. I can't believe how lovely the little windows pieces are and that it could be easy enough to do. I would really like to experience a success. Thanks for your fun give-a-ways. Kelley

I visited the website for the second time this morning. I love anything you can wear that has a photo of someone you love in it, so these items rock. I am a newbie to resin, but make all kinds of jewelry and would be THRILLED to win this wonderful prize. Thanks for sharing. Nice blog too, by the way!
