Worm Food

This is a piece that I just did last night. I started out wanting to alter the visible man figure but ended up doing a piece more on texture. The top texture was done with Golden acrylics and fluid acrylics with hot glue and salt. The middle section consists of handmade papers and some book text. The bottom half was done with natural beeswax, Golden's Coarse Pumice Gel, beads, white gesso, and brown shoe polish. I needed something in the middle because it looked kind of stark there. So, I used the fork that I used for spreading the pumice gel as contrast.

I LOVE it. The embedded and encrusted textures are fascinating. The layers definitely make me think of earth and the metallic bring in just enough movement. The fork grabs my attention and tht title really fits. Wow.

Interesting...the background is really so visual! The texture reminds me of the earth...the Invisable Man is a major unit of this planet..he alone can maintain the glow. How is he nurturing (the fork) this good earth!?!

Very creative...Jan of Albuquerque

Belinda, If I may comment, Your piece called Worm Food is a different direction for you. I'm really excited for you that you are exploring the mediums and their different abilities. This piece has more being said that comes deep from the center of the earth for you. I really like it alot, It makes me want to know more. The Invisable man is half covered and the fork is right out there. Making the large statement. The interesting small piece in the stream or the worm figure are really interesting. So are you going to do more like this?
