My housepaint background

This is my favorite technique to-date. I am one-handed, so this will be short. Read about tech. in art tech. group. I saw it in the latest Somerset Workshop.
140# cold press wc paper, left-over coffee all over. Instant coffee with little water so thick and gooey. Random blotches - let pool. Dry. Instant coffee sticky and glossy when dry. Paper stuck to table where I overflowed edges. Dry brush off-white latex or house paint.-flat or satin. I got sample sizes at Menards. Pittsburgh brand 2 oz for $2.98 each. 2 oz goes long way. Random dry brush heavenly blue, dark sage, and chocolate turtle in diff. spots. Use damp paper towel over surface to blend. White gesso wash all over. Dab off excess with paper towels. Done. Let dry.
I am going to try again with text glued on diff. places randomly.

Love this technique! Belinda, I think you and I are the only ones who read the Yahoo group. But keep trying since it's a good addition to Sara's blog.

Obviously the one handedness killed your spelling but other than that, it was well done and written up. Which Somerset though? There are sooooo many.

Get well soon...and have a good thanksgiving!

Wow! I am definitely going to have to try this. We have all kinds of leftover paint, sounds like just the technique to do to use it all up. Thanks for sharing.
