Many, many thanks for the postcards

I just wanted to thank all the artists who took the time and money to send my students postcards. We have not gone through all of them yet. We have not sent out any yet. We will do them in the new year. My kids were all very excited and thought it was coolest thing. My parents came in for some school activities/functions and mentioned to me that they thought it was a great project. So thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. Due to privacy issues, I cannot name my students' names here, but I can post what they wrote when I asked them to write about what they thought about being sent the postcards:


I thought the postcards were nice. I got to learn about many states and countries. I loeved the cool pictures. The best part was being able to keep the postcard.


I liked the postcard from the Rockies with the moose on it., Thank you for it a lot.


My postcard was cool because it showe me a cool bridge but I wish they would have written something to me.


I think the postcards were cool and nice. Also the people who sent them were really generous.


I think that it was really cool especially the photo on the card. I thought it was very nice of her to send it.


I thoght the postcard was great and cool. I got one from California.


I think the postcard was cool. Thank you for the memory. We did a cool project with it.


The New Jersey one is cool.


I thought that the postcard ws great. It was a great idea. We could learn a lot more about the states this way.


I think is was kind of cool because I like how the red mountains look and how the water looks flat. Thank you!

The postcard from Cleveland was very niece because it showed me some buildings. That made me want to go to Cleveland, Ohio.

I think it was very kind of them to buy and spend money for us to have a great Christmas.


I thought the postcards they gave us today was pretty cool because they all came from different places. The one I got was from Phoenix. It was cool because we all got to say where our postcard came from.


Hi. Thanke for the postcards. It looks very cool. Someday, I would like to go visit Portland. It looks beautiful over there. It looks a little hot, but I think it is not cold that much. Thanks for the post card.


I thought some of the homemade ones were nice and put a lot of work into them. The store bought ones with the picts I thought were beautiful because the pictures on them were so nice.


The postcard you gave me was so nice because it made me want to got to Cleveland, Ohio. To visit all the buildings and to see how life is over there. Also, I would like to see Lake Erie. Thank you so much for sending the postcards and making me want to go there.


I thought that these were great because it made me think of my grandmother. I will have to call and tell her about it.


I liked the postcards and it was nice of them. I am going to hang it on my wall. It was very kind of them to think of us.


I mostly like the hen. I have never gotten a postcard from Birmingham, U.K. I am going to take good care of it. I am really happy I got it.


I liked getting all the different types of postcards. They were all very pretty to get and look at. I am very happy I got a postcard. I will take very good care of it. I liked seeing the picture with the different colors and designs.


The postcards were wicked and totally amazing. I am so glad we got them. Thank you for taking the time to send them.


Thank you for taking the time to send the cards. I appreciate that you spent the time to do it.


Thanks to all of you for changing my kids' world. You don't know how much this has broadened and changed their world.

These comments are great. Such a simple thing and it seems the postcards were so appreciated. I'm sorry I missed out on this, and will be more dilligent about checking your blog for announcements like this.

Reading the notes from the kids almost made me want to be a 6th grade school teacher and have a geography lesson with postcards. Then sanity was restored and I recovered nicely. However, I think I'm going to save this info and pass it on to one of our college teachers to give to her students for when they become school teachers. It was a wonderful idea.
