Yes, I am a techno geek! Kindle on iPhone

I got all excited when I hear that Amazon put out the Kindle App (application) for iPhone. You can get it for free. I don't know how long that will last. You can use your amazon.com account. Your book will download wirelessly to your iPhone the next time you open up your kindle app on your iPhone.

A few people have expressed concerns about wanting to read a book instead of wanting to read on a screen. I love to read a hard copy as well. I did not hesitate to download this app and to get a book right away to try it out. You can adjust the font - which is a big plus for a person like me who needs to wear trifocals when she does not have her contacts in. Also, the pages go from left to right instead of down. It helps me to keep track of the pages instead of losing track and it being a continuous page. There is also a bookmark. My eyes do not get any more tired than I would get from reading a book. There are also simple illustrations in the book that I got.

I figure this a great thing for me. I don't always carry a book with me. I can have something to read if I am unexpectedly detained at the doctor's office or have to wait at a soccer game. I can download a book for my kids to read so they will shut their mouths and not fight while we are on a long car ride. Okay, my son will probably have brought his own book, so I will download a book for my daughter so she won't whine that she is bored.

It is a bonus for me because I don't usually keep a lot of books unless it is an art book. I read a book and pass it onto a friend. I swap books with people all the time. They take up too much room. I don't reread books. I don't keep them just to have them. I keep art books for reference reasons.

So, I had to blog about this. I don't get excited very often about stuff like this. I had to share.

I am excited for you. I have thought about getting a kindle, but didn't think I would use it often enough to justify the cost. I like getting my books from the library. It takes awhile, but I have so many books to read all at once that I don't get to them all and end up sending some back. I don't have an iphone, but I have an itouch. I'm not sure if I can get that app. I may have to try. That phone is something else!
