New Giveaway!

It has been awhile since I have done one. I have been busy with the end of the school year and with my reading cohort. I am in summer school with two classes and it is KILLING me! I hardly have time to breathe let alone do art. Anyway, this giveaway will end this upcoming Wednesday, since people will be busy with Father's Day this weekend. I will pick a winner through the random number generator thingie a week from tomorrow.

Prize? A very fun Trader Joe tote that I just discovered, a set of metallic Sakura Gelly Roll pens, and an autographed copy (or not autographed, if you wish) of the July/August issue of Cloth Paper Scissors with my Puffy Heart article in there. I did this as a mini-workshop at the Quilt Fest in Chicago.
What do you need to do? Just post a comment to this post. You can comment about how you use markers or pens in your art. Do you use Sakura gelly roll pens? Do you read Cloth Paper Scissors on a regular basis? Just curious.

Belinda, I am in awe. I have no idea how you do as much as you do. Yes, I use jelly roll pens...on fabric, paper and polymer clay. And yes....I read CPS, but do not have the latest issue (a signed copy would be a treat!). Thanks for all of your inspiration!!!!

I subscribe to CPS and love it. Trader Joe's too. Thanks for the giveaway.

Very cool giveaway! I use GellyRoll pens quite a bit, even just writing in my journal. I love the stardust pens and the glaze pens.

I have been using a white pen on black paper, which gives a lovely lace effect.

Hi Belinda,
I'd love to be in the drawing for your giveaway. I do read Cloth Paper Scissors regularly, and have used Gelly Roll pens in the past, but didn't know they would do so well on cloth. Would be fun to try.

I LOVE Cloth, Paper, Scissors. It is my fave magazine. I really enjoy how they have wonderful art and art that's a bit more on the crafty side. Just a wonderful mag all the way around.

Cloth Paper Scissors and Quilting Arts are two of my all time favorite magazines. Great give away.

Well, I don't read cloth paper scissors, but I probably should. I'm just entering this whole paper arena and learning there are valuable resources. So, I'd take the autographed version and the pens. If you pick now the number generator won't have to work too hard either!

Found you via ABC-altered books Yahoo group.

Thanx, Phredkite@yahoodotcom

I use the Sakura Gelly Roll pens to draw my 5th grade students names on a white background. Then I add magnet to the back and cut them out. I use their names of the whiteboard for sorting them into groups or for missing work. The students love their artist names and will copy the lettering in their writing journals.

Let's see if I can remember all your questions! *LOL*

I'd love to have an autographed copy of Cloth Paper Scissors! *VBG* I buy it whenever I find it when I go to the "city" to shop (which isn't often - it's a long way), but just haven't had the money to splurge on a subscription. But it's on my list - I love the mag!

I just completed an art bra for an organization my mother is in, and I used markers to "paint" it, then I used sequins, embroidery, beads and lots of other stuff to embellish it!

Hey good luck with summer school. Yes I read cloth paper scissors i get it delivered to my home in western australia it was going at a really cheap rate unlike somerset studios which is pretty expensive and give a nice variety of articles. I mainly use pens when i am writing in my journal which doesnt happen to often i am on atc kick at the moment so there is an erasable pen i use for embossing and that is about it at the moment. I hope i win it looks like a cool prize.

I'd love those pens! I always make cards using black card stock and these are the best pens to write with in the cards. Haven't been to TJ's in a long time and need to go if they have cool bags like this! CPS is one of my favorite magazines and yes, I am a faithful reader.

I enjoy Cloth Paper Scissors magazine, but a subscription isn't in my budget at this time, so I buy them if the cover catches my eye.

I had a coupon to get one of the free Trader Joe's totes last week, but it was only good at a particular location (about 10 miles out of my way), and because I was getting ready for a show, I just didn't have time.

I read Cloth, Paper, Scissors about every other issue. I subscribe to Quilting Arts and then my "play" budget interferes with any more subscriptions. However, I do have a copy of CPS in my reading pile for a cross-country trip next week!! I can't wait!

I'd love to win an autographed copy of the new CPS!

I use all kinds of markers in my art. My current favorite is Tsukineko Fabrico markers. Although I use the gel markers, too.

Pens, I use then in journaling, etc.

See you at AU in August.

Great giveaway and, girl, you need to get some rest! I'm tired just reading all the stuff you do!

I haven't tried jelly roll pens yet but use other "permanent" markers on my art quilts.

I love Cloth, Paper, Scissors. I've been a faithful subscriber and reader from the very beginning.

I'd love to win, and if I do, I would just like the tote and the pens, so you can pick a second reader for the CPS magazine since I subscribe! And that way there will be 2 winners!

So funny. I was in TJ's yesterday looking at that bag. They have the best designed shopping bag I think ... one of my favorite stores. Right now, markers are my art tool ... Sharpie color pens. But, I don't like that they bleed. I cannot use them in my journal. I have been using big old fashioned printer paper ... with all the little holes on the side. I have every CPS from the beginning but not got round to renewing the subscription since they had a digital possibility. I love my gelly roll pens.

Cindy McMath said...

Belinda, what a generous giveaway!

I read CPS all the time, and enjoy seeing your work in there fairly regularly these days.

Love the tote - you can never have too many of these to tote art supplies and all sorts of stuff around!

Most of all I'm intrigued by the set of Gelly Roll pens. I use their white pen all the time, but I've never used their metallics. The thing I love about the white pen is that it is so versatile - I use it over acrylic paint all the time, but it is equally great on plain old black cardstock. I think the metallic pens must be fab. I'm getting sick of buying the gold leafing pens and having them dry up, or the tip get all bent (probably becuase I'm using it on something scratchy but you know what I mean...), so it would be great to have another option.

Cheers,

Cindy :)

Once again you have a very generous giveaway. A year ago this month, I discovered Trader Joe's in LA. I'd never even heard of it before, and love their bags.

I read CPS especially since I've gotten into art quilts. I have never used the Sakura gelly pens. I am not even sure I've heard of them (but you know me, I don't get out much {grin}).

Your post brings back memories of when I worked 58 hours a week in a hot factory, then drove nearly an hour to attend night classes full time for my bachelor's and master's degrees. We adapt, or we cut back somewhere. I think mine was cutting back on sleep!!
