ATC class at Create Art Retreat

I thought that I would share some of the picts of the ATCs and techniques that I would be focusing on during my ATC workshop for the Create Art workshop in Rosemont, IL in August.

I will be teaching this class Thursday evening. Be prepared to create turbo charged ATCs. There will even be beeswax there for you to experiment with!

Metal and faux metal ATCs. Be prepared to have some fun with a glue gun! Can you tell which one has a metal back and which one is faux metal? Click on the picts for a bigger picture.
Next , no smoke or smoking involved, matchbook ATCs that are DeMeng inspired. They are so fun and so unique that you may not want to trade them. Make one for yourself so you will always won't be sorry you gave one away!

Experiment with rich layers of paper, paint, and sprays to create grungepaper ATCs. The top are examples of supersized inchies that I made for a swap using the same technique.

My iPhone doesn't take the best picts but these next 3 picts look much more gorgeous in real life. I am introducing these next 3 for the first time ever! You are getting the first sneak peek. Until they throw us out of the room, we will keep creating ATCs and for the first time ever...create resin flooded ATC canvas creations! Once you start, you will want to keep doing it all night long. BTW, the tiny beads inside the bottle move around. I have spent too many mindless minutes playing with that once the resin has dried.

My husband wants this one but I told him I need this as a sample for the workshop! What is it with boys and skulls? The beads inside the bottle move around. Yes, I spend mindless minutes moving the beads and buttons around inside the bottle.

Here is the final example of resin flooded ATC canvas. This technique (flooded resin) was inspired by my wonderful Aussie artist friend, Linda Baldock.

Wow! these are awesome. I wish I could go to the Retreat, but maybe next year, since I already have a retreat scheduled. But these sure are tempting. Just gorgeous- the layers and dimension and color all together make for really stunning pieces. My, i'm gushing, i know but i can't help it- they're just terrific. I'm taking a class with Michael in the fall and I can't wait- you should forward this post to him, I'm sure he would be delighted to see these.
