Saddened by Rejection

I submitted this paper quilt for the True Colors Challenge. It did not get selected to be in the Quilt Show. I know that I should not let it bother me, but it does. I feel sad right now. The top pict is from my digital camera. It did not come out as good as the second pict - the close-up. I worked hard on this piece for several days. I was very happy with the way it came out. It is too bad that I was not picked. My dh does not understand why I am so upset.

Belinda - it's a gorgeous piece! I know the feeling of rejection, try not to let it get to your muse. I'm sure they just had too many exceptional pieces (yours included) and had the hard job of choosing..... Or they just have bad taste! :) Marva

I love the piece. Yes, it's so hard to put our art work out there. We fall in love with a piece that we put our heart and soul into, and then others look at it and see something "different". Submitting your work for others to critique is a risk, but a necessary one for your work to be seen and appreciated. Don't give up on submitting ... it might not have been the style for this contest, but the next one may "rock the house." Congratulations for having the courage to share your work with others.

i am disappointed for you. it really is a lovely quilt. it will be disappointing to go to the quilt show and see others that do not seem to be of equal talent. know that it is appreciated by those who have seen it. Take it with you during the quilt show and show it first hand. They may hang it up right then. sorry for the disappointment.

I'm sorry you were rejected for the CPS paper quilt. Your quilt is still awesome. You can see all the hard work you put into it. What I don't understand is how CPS judges the work that is submitted to them?? Some of the stuff they publish just isn't that great..very mundane.

This makes me sad that they didn't accept this, Belinda. This is really a stunning piece -- and all your hard work really shows. Don't give up :)
